It certainly used to make me think "yes, why DO i do this everyday, when i could just get a job closer to home, and not spend hours of my life on the road"
I have no idea if that was the intention of the artist though
After doing it they probably got mummy to pick them up in a Range Rover and went home for a bit of supper and to finish their homework.
To the person who did do it i answer
"Because I have to - you silly naive fool!"
If my memory serves me correctly when the graffitti was first painted the fence used to say "Why do I do this every day?" It was there for ages and then got painted out. Within no time it re-appeared saying "Why do I still do this every day?"
One day I was working with a guy in the area and he told me it was his next door neighbour who did both and the reason was that around 8am every weekday he sat in a stationary queue at that point waiting to join the M25. Like you by now millions of people have seen it and empathised strongly.
PS There used to be some graffitti on the Northwick Park concrete roundabout.anyone remember this famous one "Nicholas Parsons is the neo-opiate of the people."
