What a day!
Woke up in a really good mood this morning, only for it to be one disaster after another.

Stood on an upturned plug
Laptop has a massive virus and is stuck
Fainted in Tesco (more embarrassing than anything)
And...wait for it... Received an email saying I no longer have a job! :((((

Firstly I checked whether it was Friday 13th. Standing on an upturned plug is just awful. Why did you faint in Tescos (OK, so Tescos does make me feel like I want to pass out), but seriously, are you OK? Have you been checked out. Lappy virus - an irritant - meh. Not needed on top of everything else. The job - mate I'm sorry. What a bastard. All I can say is best of...

As per Catherine Tate's nan 'what a load of Sugar'. Poor you, never mind, you know what they say - the sun will come out tomorrow (yeah right)x
Good grief...that's awful. What a truly crap day. And what a rubbish way of letting you know. So much for the human touch.
Be good to yourself, and have a girlie wallow in choc and wine. Then hit the employment agencies first thing tomorrow on foot,by email...whatever it takes.
What a shower of sh!ts. Sorry to hear that MadMen.

No redundancy for me (only me) as my contract was still a probation period contract. Probably why they never gave me a proper one.
My head is absolutely banging. I'll be spending this evening job hunting, and will be in the agencies on Monday morning :((
Good luck MM.

Thanks tony :-)
Sorry to hear you've had such a bad day,try to have a good weekend(if it doesn't snow) and start afresh on Monday.

The job - mate I'm sorry. What a bastard. All I can say is best of british in your hunt for new work.

My prescription: you aren't going to change ANY Of this tonight, you may well indeed spend the night worrying. Buy in comfort food and wine. Tomorrow pick yourself up, dust yourself down and "do a Scarlett" - after all tomorrow is another day.
Sorry MM that is so crap. Good luck in your hunt for a job - not easy these days xx

Right. I've got my son's lappy now. I must have written five or six really long responses to comments, and then my signal would go and I'd lose the lot. Arghh.

Me and fainting is nothing new. I seem to faint really easily, and always know when it's about to happen as my hearing starts going very muffled and then things will go grey.
I was all hot and bothered in Tesco and got myself into a bit of a panic. The back of my neck and the palms of my hands were sweltering, and I just about managed to grab the nearest shelf stacker and ask for help... although i didn't quite make it to the end of the sentence. I was more worried about my daughter, who was with me. The poor thing was in floods of tears after it happened. They were really kind and gave me a drink. They wanted to phone for a ambulance, but I was absolutely fine. A bit shaky, but fine. It was so embarrassing, as you can imagine in a busy shop! :(

sit with foot up all evening.
don't know what to suggest but someone on here will be able to help you
avoid tesco.
*** firm to do that maybe you are best out of it.
good luck with finding a new job.
Really sorry to hear about your job Madmen. Hope you find something soon x

And I thought I was having a sh!te day at work (I nearly walked out!).

Thanks for the further answers. Sorry, I feel really bad for having such a moan, I know there are people going through much tougher situations, but I was just really fed up yesterday.
I've sent my CV to a couple of firms, although I'm not holding out much hope as it's a difficult market to be in at the moment (insurance), and I managed to speak to a couple of employment agencies this morning, so I'm being productive.
Managed to get my laptop sorted - thanks to my ex, which makes job hunting a hell of a lot easier. I was trying to reply to my work email yesterday via my phone, and it's really frustrating when you lose everything you've just written because of a crap signal!

Still feel a bit 'dodgy' after yesterday's fainting thing. Light-headed and a bit jittery, but my daughter has been off school with a bug since Wednesday, so I may have caught something from her.

Anyway, I'm rambling now, but just wanted to say thanks and apologise for having a moan :)
