But I did regularly go to retreats and they are meaningful. I think I may go to one this year as my cousin who is a nun (80 years old) she is doing one in July so I may join her) think I need it - it is very contemplative and you are under no obligation to follow everything through.

I haven't been on a pilgrimage as such but I have been on a retreat 2 or 3 times. The first time was to pray that my village church I had been going to was
going to close because of declining figures. I now go to a town church but I've never got over the pain of the split in my original place of worship. I'm happy enough but I think I probably put my trust too much in people instead of God.
