So Farewell Daily Telegraph...
I have been reading you since I was nine. 40 years, but now you are going behind a paywall (like the Times did).

Seriously, I will not be subscribing.
Would you Daily Mail (or other publication) readers subscribe if it went behind a paywall?

I realise that newspaper economics change, but to suddenly charge for something that has been free for 20 years is a difficult sell. They do not appear to be enhancing it or having any more content, so I will no longer be linking to it.
I have never liked the Guardian, but I used to like the Observer (when Lohnro owned it) but now it is just a Sunday Guardian and I do not look at it. Like sp, I read most of my newspapers and magazines on the iPad and prefer that to the physical paper (with the exception of Private Eye).
I agree with jno, when content goes behind a wall, it drops from the national consciousness.

If this below is a sample of what the Telegraph has to offer, I don't think it will be missed.

Oh no ! The Sun is going paywall ! What is Murdoch thinking ?
With The Times you get "free" daily Sunday Times and Times in print, by vouchers, and the online version too, with 'offers' which are pretty useless for most. Latest was tea, a glass of champagne, cakes, and free admission to the last ,and public, day of Chelsea Flower Show, a snip at £135 each. Gosh! Thanks. They do offer the occasional free cinema ticket, too.
