// Odd a lefty wants to live in the States though. Would have though Russia or China more his cup of tea. //

He might find Russia and China are more Capitalist than the west these days. I am guessing you have never heard of Noam Chomsky (not that I am comparing DM with him).
Just catching coverage of it on Sky under the Breaking News headline.
Is this REALLY such a cataclysmically, ground breaking wow-factor news event?
Surely there are far more significant news issues to be discussed and reported on?
I wish him the best of luck in his change of career direction.
"Odd a lefty wants to live in the States though. Would have though Russia or China more his cup of tea "

?

I expect that Louise Mensch will feel right at home then. After all, she abandoned her Tory seat in Corby and buggered off to the Land of Endless Opportunity, thus ensuring Labour was able snatch a by-election seat from the Tories for the first time for 15 years.

Can we persuade Boris to take trip out West do you think ? I am sure that Cameron and May would gladly club together for the air ticket.
because he was preferred, and many thought he should have got the job. I really don't care for him, i am sure he has made his dosh and can afford to swan about bringing his expertise to this new role. Good riddance, shame we can't do the same for his nasally challenged sibling
Louise said she hoped that as much attention would be paid to David as it did to her when she buggered off, in the way of fairness.
Milliband, D, is no more a "Lefty" than is Cameron, D. (Probably less so if truth's to be told). There are no Lefties or Righties in mainstream politics in the UK today. They all crave to occupy the middle ground, fearful almost to the extent of mental illness of upsetting somebody or other. The end result is that everybody gets what nobody wants.

And so it was with the Labour Party election. The notion that there must be an alternative to first-past-the-post in any election where there are more than two runners is ridiculous. It's about as sensible as saying that the winner of a horse race should not necessarily be the winner because more punters backed the horses that followed him past the post.
Yep....apologies Gromit, my vision of the name Miliband always conjours up flappy-mouth Ed. I didn't read your post properly. what a tit, and only three tinnies down. Sorry x
I suppose David is doing the best in the circs, who knows he may be able to mention his brother's name to Spielberg.

There was a clue to the daftness of this newspaper piece, and it was helpfully
provided in the actual link itself.

It was the Telegraph, that well-known independently-minded newspaper
that always gives unbiased information about news items that concern parties other than the Tories.
If you take the politics out of it and think of it as a family epic then I feel quite sorry for him and I'd sulk too. It caused a family rift and shattered his dreams, bit Cain and Abel, would make a great movie.
