I have one of those plugs where you twist this round thing (lol) and the plug pops up. It's broke and won't twist so I can't get the plug out. The bath still has OH's dirty bath water in it and I do not fancy standing in his dirty water to have a shower.

Any idea on how I can get the plug out? We've tried using a knife....but no.

He mentioned maybe a magnet.....but where would I get a magnet?

Brilliant. Thank you everyone. I just emptied my bath with a bucket then used a suction hook I had in the kitchen to stick to the plug (just the right size) and had the hook to hold on to and pull! Job done. And the plug still seems to work.
Brilliant. I just had the same problem. Emptied the bath with a bucket then used a suction hook I had in the kitchen to stick to the plug (just the right size). The hook was perfect to get a good grip then pull - job done! And the plug still seems to work.
Same problem twice within a year of fitting this bath, and water in the tub on both occasions.. somehow the scew works tself too far into the actual plug, then the round knob does nothing about lifting the plug up...best solution is to empty the bath with a bucket to releive the pressure, then suction the plug up whilst turning knob and ''voila'' it come up no prob and you can then glue the screw in the right position with araldite or something similar!!!
I had same problem - I got some 'no more nails' strips and some string, attached string to plug with strip and just pulled the plug out.
After the glue hint i tried a piece of maksing tape and hey presto up it came!! (i almosy destroyed my bath suite)
