Daisy...I enjoy any fiddly sewing by hand..though my sewing machine is well used. Darning with way out colours is good. I have a weird little Victorian darning machine...not tried it yet.
Not smocks Em......smocking onto fabric. Smocked cushion panels are lovely.
My mother was a seamstress in one of her guises. She made many evening dresses for me as wll as everyday clothes. She taught me to sew, I taught my daughter. Daughter now makes many stage costumes for my grandchildren (girl and boy) who both dance. Even taught herself to make a tutu.
I have my mother in law's treadle machine stored in our garage at the moment. There's no where to keep it inside, am seriously considering buying an electric one or whatever is the "thing" nowadays. I do prefer to spend my time doing embroidery be it cross stitch needlepoint or free hand embrodery.
Decided to sky+ the sewing bee thing as I can't miss tonight's football
Forca Barca!
gingejbee is right - it is not live (as in happening right now), but recorded several weeks or month ago. Remember the live episodes of certain soaps a few months back? They were broadcast as they were filmed, not recorded then broadcast later. Sorry to disagree adrianben, but methinks you're mistaken.
