Can anyone help on this, really don't want to go to doctor if it is nothing. For the past few days I have been feeling giddy (not in blonde sense). The funny thing is it is only when I get into bed at night, and get up in morning. When I get into bed i feel like my whole body and head are spinning round the room at 100mph. I keep my eyes closed, and it passes in a few minutes and I am fine. Same thing happens when I get up in morning to answer phone alarm. The other morning I nearly crashed into wardrobe. Rest of the day I am fine, not giddy, can bend over, do exercise etc. I have no earache, and no giddiness at any other time. Any ideas? I am in tip top health by the way.

This could be Vertigo rabbits or Labyrinthitis. I had the same last year and I needed a course of tablets for it. Best to see your GP.
Does sound like it's caused by something in your ear (possibly an infection has affected one or both ears). You really should see your doctor - no point in being silly about it, he or she is there to help, and won't be too happy if he/she has to say to you, "If only you'd come to see me earlier...".

It does rather sound as if it's either an ear infection or an attack of vertigo which is a temporary condition where small crystals move around in the inner ear and cause a feeling inbalance. You might find the following website helpful, which explains the condition in greater detail:

Whoops, sorry that site didn't quite lead to where I thought it would. Try Googling:-

BPPV - Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo.

As others have said, see your doctor. Dizziness is a symptom of many dissorders. Your GP will probably take your blood pressure and check out your ears. This should put your mind at rest, and if by any chance you do have a problem it will be able to be treated.

I had exactly the same thing about ten years ago and I tried to get out of bed and just fell over. Have you had a sharp blow to the head at all that you may have forgotten ? I was in a car crash some months before and I am sure it was connected. Anyway, my doctor diagnosed labyrinthitis and I can't remember if I had medication or not, but the good news is and hopefully yours will be the same, that it cleared up and I have never had a repeat episode since.

My wife has just recovered from a bout of vertigo, she had the same symptoms you describe, she was diagnosed by the doctor, I suggest you pay him/her a visit,
Why not try looking up your symptoms on www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/ - Not to say the answers here aren't useful, but NHS Direct is undoubtedly a more comprehensive resource and probably better as a first port of call - it will give you an idea of what might be going on, what causes it, how it might be treated etc.
