Just been reading through this and it is a bit of a revelation!

I don't tend to drink anything other than instant or filter coffee, cordial and water, think I'll be sticking to it!

I'm always aware of what I eat or dink. That definitely doesn't mean I make good choices though, but I don't think I could ever say my choices were uninformed.
Besides alcohol I'm very aware of what I drink (alcohol is an informed choice)

I can't be bothered reading labels so I tend to stick to water. Soft drinks do not go on my shopping list.
I only drink tea and water, I have never believed the healthy hype in any of these trendy fruit juices.
don't drink any of these fancy smoothies as can make my own if want them, or dig out the fruit from the fruit bowl. Not into soft drinks like cola, sprite, too fizzy,,
we drink some sugary drinks.. balance in all things.
some fruits are full of sugar, they're still "healthy".
a piece of fruit is a more natural source of sugar and hasnt had a bunch of chemicals added.
What a ridiculous way of describing how much sugar a drink has!! I just found the article immediately irritating. I've no idea how much sugar is in or on a doughnut or in a magnum, why don't they just tell us in "teaspoons" or does that not make it look quite so bad. Stupid article!!

Sorry Eve.

Errrrrr.....guilty sis haha :) Soo not that bad though! :)
I mostly drink water during the day and have a couple of coffees in the morning. I drink tea too but not very often. I very rarely drink fresh juices. The only mixer drinks I have indoors is Ribena no added sugar.
I hate the taste of artificial sweetners . They leave an after taste in my mouth. There is a fortune waiting for the person who can invent an artificial sweetner that actually tasts like sugar and no aftertaste.
Apart from coffee and tea I drink water. I was surprised about the Innocent smoothies as the name suggests its all natural. After reading the article it does say that there is no added sugar, so surely if it is pure fruit juice, I would have thought that was ok, natural sugar.
Being an Aquarius, I always have water close to hand (habit maybe) but when it comes to Alcohol.. depends on the company I'm with and not the content.

It has being alleged that we are drinking recycled water that has passed through at least five Humans before we take a drink.
That article seems to be based entirely upon the myth that sugar is automatically bad for you. It isn't!

As long as you don't put on weight through excess consumption of sugar, there's very little evidence that it causes significant health problems. (Even Type 2 diabetes, which is sometimes linked to excess sugar, seems to only occur in those with excess weight, not in those who've simply had a high sugar intake).

I get through about ½kg of sugar per week in my tea and coffee at home, with more from drinks in cafés, etc. (If I'm drinking the really bitter stuff that McDonald's call 'coffee' I need about 8 sachets of sugar in it). I also eat about a packet of biscuits per day plus loads of jam doughnuts, etc. However I'm still under-weight for my height, and all that sugar seems to be doing me no harm at all.
@chris-you may be 'lucky' so far with eating that much sugar...just with what you have in tea and coffee puts you in the national average for weekly consumption. But add all the biscuits...and hidden sugars-and you may have problems in the future. Sugar is every where...in all the pre packaged deli meats we eat,sauces...even in cheese.
If you have time-read this(I'd give you a link to a 90 minute lecture by the Dr in the article-but that may be a bit OTT.)

For eating and drinking problems, it should be very serious. It is very difficult to go back to the pure natural non-pollution your time, can do now only best effort not to pollute the nature, let us return to the real life. So to eat, drink the rest assured.
