In the good old days this site was a q&a site. Nowadays so many posts are chat not questions, and the Ab Ed seems to collude with this. It seems to me that setting up the chatterbank was a very bad idea as now it is suspended all the other topic areas are highjacked for chat purposes.

I yearn for the pure and austere days of yore.

Surely if CB came back then it would leave everyone to enjoy the QA pages.

I can't understand why certain ChatterBankers are complaining that this site is so 'dull' since ChatterBank went. After all, it was only a 'dull' question and answer site when most of them arrived here and they must have liked it well enough then to stay around.

From what I remember, when the Suggestions category was introduced, that got taken over by chat until AB Ed agreed to set up a separate ChatterBank category. The rest is history.

If people don't like it here they are free to find other question and answer sites elsewhere, or they can accept the AnswerBank for what it is, and find other means, measures and places that aren't so 'dull'.

Most of the Cbers only arrived here long after Chatterbank was introduced katiebee, so therefore they have never known it be without this beloved ( in our opinion anyway) facility.

My recollection is that there was so much chatter going on in the new Suggestions category that the chatterers (the CBers in the making), got their own way and ChatterBank was formed.

Either way, ChatterBank has gone, be it temporary or permanent, and CBers should accept it.
