What would you have them do?
Keep repeating the same old distressing footage that we saw yesterday evening, or report something which is happening at the moment?
Question Author
at least sky news have their priorities right.
Question Author
its nothing to do with the footage. its a press conference.
The news is constant, and no one event has ever stopped all other news coverage, with the possible exception of 911.

It is not the News Editor's job to present the news in order of perceived importance, only its place and impact in time - and that is obviously what is going on here.

I clearly recall that when the media were replaying the 911 crashes over and over again, a psychologist on Radio Four said that such repeated viewings were actually bad for people - maybe the media has listened and learned?
You mean their priorities are the same as yours?

I'd hate to think of you as one of those people who thinks that they are 'right' and everybody else is 'wrong' and that values and opinions that differ from yours are unacceptable
I wrote my post before jack posted hers, so it appears we are inagreement on this.
Did they have anything new to add?

Like, who and why?

They're back in Boston now anne, quick don't miss it!
It might be a car full of terrorist carrying bombs and weapons.
Question Author
jth, its live on sky 24. for the latest information.
Unless they have the Who and the Why, I'm really not interested.
The latest news is that the bombs were made of a simple steel pressure cooker (used in home canning). These are filled with ball bearings, scraps of metal and glass as well as the explosive. Usually left in a garbage can when redeied. Apparently, this is the preferred method of construction in Pakistan and Afghanistan...

(I'm in the U.S., btw)
