Bird Feeders

I have had to take down my two bird feeders as the garden has been having visitors of the rat kind. They scrouge underneath the feeders.How can I still feed the birds but avoid feeding the rats?

Half log covered with wire filled with peanuts and a fat ball container on a pole.

Not much you can do..unless you put down rat run box traps.
