Has anyone ever bought a house plant from Ikea and have it survive a decent amount of time? The ones I have bought always need repotting, their roots are coming out the bottom and have replaced most of the soil, and they die soon after, whether I repot them or not.

I've had a couple from Ikea, and no they didn't last very long, but then I am a bit of a serial killer when it comes to plants. I take the easy way out now and buy artificial ones. The death toll was rising way too high.
I have bought a good few in the past months and had no real problems with them....I always soak the plant when i get it home then water every other day....feed once a week (if I remember)....not needed to re-pot either...maybe I have just been lucky?
funny you should say this - my friend, an every weekend Iker, advised me about three years ago that I should never buy plants from Ikea as they never last. Apparently they buy cheap ones to sell them so cheap (which makes sense really) Like most of their stuff, it's a cosmetic item - not meant to last but just meant to dress a room. Don't know if there is any truth in it - but I've stayed away from their plants since!
