When I was in the army in Egypt I loved the taste of porridge and I asked the cook why it tasted different from in the UK. He said " Ah that's the weevils and he showed me the big drum containing the porridge oats and it was swarming with weevils. " You could say it was a protein supplement.
It didn't change my eating habits and I have recently enjoyed chocolate ants. Rather nutty !
