The Nook

Having bought the Nook at the bargain price of £29. I thought that a timely word of advice may help any one else thinking of doing so. First the memory card is not included; I don’t think the touch is all that sensitive and more importantly the selection of books are poor and very expensive, probably I have been spoilt by Kindle

Good to know, thanks. I was considering getting one for my son but i'll hold off and get him a Kindle instead.

best decision Daffy, I often get books from Amazon for less than a £1 even free, some have been very good. Nooks offerings are from from £4.50 upwards

But you can download recent releases from your local library - for nothing, on the Nook.

I thought the Nook was dear too. I've got a Pandigital e-reader, not really got the hang of it yet which supports Barnes and Noble they are quite expensive as well. So far I've downloaded classics for free.

Your Nook reads the ePub format, so you can also buy books from the Google Play Store; Waterstones; WHSmith; Penguin and a whole host of ePub sites.

Lots of free classics available on the Project Gutenberg site.

I have the Sony eReader which reads lots of different formats.

that's very interesting hc, I will give them a try although having classics at school and then with my own kids and the grand children who I half brought up as my daughter was and still is in the military I am now all classiced out. I am into blood and gore, mystery and adventure, am into a good 59p one that is very good
