Sad news about Jade

Hi to all you kind AB'rs.I wanted to let you know that my lovely dog had to be put to sleep the day after her 17th Birthday on New Years Day.I have been on holiday and unfortunately she became ill while we were in Jamaica.My family and my vet insisted on calling me and I had to make THE DECISION. The worst any animal lover has to take.You were all so kind when she was ill before so I wanted to take the time to share it with you.I am heartbroken but pleased that she never suffered and that she had a very long and happy life.She will never be forgotten.

So sorry about your dog, and especially as it happened when you were so far away, which must have ruined your holiday too. I hope you will keep all the happy memories with you.

Bless you.So sorry to hear about your dog.This is the kindest thing we can do for our beloved pets when the time comes.A hard decision to make and we have to be brave .It isn't easy....know just how you feel.I do hope you feel better soon .

Good thoughts sent to you and your family. Losing a beloved pet is very hard, making the decision is even harder. Jade crossed over the rainbow bridge and will be there waiting for you, just know she'll have fun with the others until then.

Thanks so much for your lovely replies.In A Pickle...the poems made me laugh and cry.I have printed them off.The candle is lovely too...thankyou so much.Having felt a mixture of guiltiness and relief (if that's the right emotion?)I am slowly starting to feel a little better.Though I was so far away I couldn't have been in a better place to toast her long and happy life...sitting in a tree by the beach with my husband watching the sunrise at 6 in the morning with tears streaming down my face.Thankyou so much xx

So sorry to hear thi ssad news, it is such a wrench as pets are family members, almost likew children, it tokk me a long time to get over the death of my last dog. We said we would not put ourselves through it again but got Megan as a rescue dog and she has been with ius 6 years now

So sorry for your loss. I was in those shoes just a few years ago and they are a very tight fit. It's hard to be a friend to the end. But for me, looking into my dog Brownie's eyes as she went was very consoling to me knowing that the last thing she would ever see was her loving mommy. I still miss her so. Bless you all.

Ive been reading through some old posts as I had my dog put to sleep yesterday and am finding it so so heartbreaking. Its been comforting to read that so many people agree its for the best and the good of the animal. The link to those poems are just heartbreaking but a comfort at the same time.
