There are 5 other vegetarians at work that I can think of, 2 are technicians, one electrician, one customer service manager and a Food and Bev Manager.
Oh....and the IT Manager, that's 6 other than me and counting.

Alcoholic harbour pilots? Piot employed now by ABP, I think was meant. The figure was seen by me some years ago, and was surprising then. One old merchant sailor commented "It must be a boring job, floating around a cork all day and they get free vodka and other booze as gifts from the ships!" Nothing surprises me about alcoholism. One man I spoke to on the phone to AA, a counsellor, told me that he was an air traffic controller, and I knew of several judges who were alcoholics. There's even a special group for alcoholic lawyers in London.
It's a very strange question ST24. I've been a veggie for 37 years and never once has it affected, one way or the other, my working life. It's just NEVER been a subject of any interest to anyone but myself. It's MY choice and never would I ever inflict MY choice, MY opinion, on anyone else or on any profession. I hope you get the answers you seek though.
I don't know if such information exists ST24, but planting the question on various Q/Asites is a good start (providing you're prepared to trudge through all the irrelevant and self-indulgent answers). It would be interesting to see if there is any statistically valid correlation. Good luck with your research.
all the people thinking this is a daft question - its irrelevant what you think - people are entitled to ask any questions they want whether you like it or not.
st24 may be doing an essay or something, or simply just curious if there is any patterns or links.
and actually its not that daft a question - i wouldn't be a bit surprised if there were some definite trends in this - being veggie is certainly more common with certain types of people.

joko...it is most certainly not irrelevant what I think, or indeed what you think either. I am entitled to make my opinions known, just like you and anyone else, as long as I do it politely and without using inflammatory language. If I think that a question is daft, than you can rely on me pointing it out !
I still don't understand what difference it makes what job people do if they are vegetarian. ST24 hasn't explained why the question was asked and what we could possibly do with the data if we had it.

you haven't been polite though have you... you have been quite insulting.
my point is, your opinion and understanding is indeed irrelevant to ST24 - i'm sure he couldn't care less how you feel about his question, and whether you 'get it' or not.
he is also not obliged to explain it all to you.
no-one has said it makes any difference whatsoever, but hes still entitled to wonder about it, and ask the question - this is Answerbank and its for everyone - so shooting down questions just because you don't understand the point of them, is unfair and may put people off posting.
