Peregrines

I've never been into birdwatching, but these live webcams have left me fascinated. The TV has taken a back seat. I think I'll take to learning more about the fascinating creatures.
Yesterday, about 11:30, midday ish, the peregrine was feeding the chicks. Something startled the falcon (near the camera - by the looks of the face, it let off a squark? Or whatever noise they make. See, I said I was a beginner!) and flew off with the feed. Unless it was hiding behind the camera, the falcon did not return for several hours, during this time the chicks backed themselves up against the wall.
Would they normally leave their young for this length of time? I was worried and pretty much watched until it returned. I have been viewing the Nottingham webcam.

The Nottingham group are a bit older than the other two groups, but the parents must go off to hunt and the chicks aren't too active yet. I imagine one of the parents might have been keeping an eye on things from a distance and I doubt anything would touch the chicks Before too long you'll get hooked on the osprey babies as they come along and at the end of it all,...

Before too long you'll get hooked on the osprey babies as they come along and at the end of it all, you'll wonder where your summer went, but it's fascinating and absorbing so enjoy !!
