The article aslo points out, ther's no such thing as 'road tax'. there's no excuse for knocking someone of their bike, deliberately or otherwise, but I see he was in a race (Boudica sportiv) and therefore may not have been riding in the most sensible fashion. This may be why he didn't report it.
On a wider issue, i'm not at all sure why road races on 'live' roads are allowed at all.
uurrgghh zacs, i agree - i live not far from the a4 and there are always cycle races - it's a 60mph road!!
if there is no road tax, what's that peice of paper i pay about 200 quid for every year?
As far as i'm aware, from a conversation I had with someone who it turned out was a serving magistrate, there is no law as such, or tax that allows or permits you to have a car on the public road......but there are plenty that can force you to take your car off the road
"but I see he was in a race".
Isn't it a charity fun run like the London To Brighton (which I've done several times)? If so, it's not a race and either way, cyclists who take part in this (unless the road is closed) will be aware that the usual rules of the road have to be adhered to. Was there any indication that the cyclist was riding recklessly?
