and going back to Mrs O and Dotty's thread I no longer buy from Ebay. I bought a coat, it never arrived and I lost my money. I bought a mobile phone and trying to use it I could hear him, he couldn't hear me. Again I lost my money. Both items were supposed to be new. I no longer use Ebay.
of the hundreds of transactions i have been a party to on there, this is the first that has really been a problem, as a buyer anyway. i got a couple of people from australia that kicked off when their bone china arrived damaged, the post office paid up eventually.
I've never had a problem with ebay, that being said I've only bought non fragile inexpensive stuff, roller skate covers, plastic cocktail glasses and cocktail umbrellas.
Tell a lie, I did win a dress at auction once, I was very excited but it never came. Refund was swift.
I've made almost 600 transactions as both a buyer and a seller and only had 3 go wrong. Two were easily fixed and I have just one a real humdinger of a dispute.
I love Ebay and will always use it... just not buy dresses from Hong Kong!
I've just had a bad experience with Ebay. I won the item in the auction, then paid immediately via PayPal. Seller then asked me for my email address, he wanted to send me an invoice as suddenly he couldnt accept payment through PPal as they had his email address wrong. He then re-listed the item even though I'd paid.
Bizarre.
I had a problem last month as the item did not arrive, she had not even marked it as despatched so I contacted Ebay who opened a resolution case with her and Bingo my item soon arrived! No seller wants to get banned .......
I've had minor problems with eBay but I buy and sell a lot - no worse than any other purchases, and always resolved one way or another. You can't blame eBay just because you had a couple of dodgy transactions - eBay or the seller has always made sure I get a refund if I had to send something back. YOu must have been unlucky, twice.
Overall had one buyer awful and one said didn't receive goods though I think they did. Out of hundreds of transactions is not bad. Only problem now is postage costs have gone up a lot so harder to make anything.
600 ebay transactions over the last 10 years: less than 5 'bad' transactions. I've saved thousands as a buyer and made hundreds as a seller... no problem with ebay at all.
