Just watching 5 News.

Some Russian lunatic has jumped off Everest.

The reporter said "Mr Russian Man leaped of the summit"

I thought the word was leapt?

bibblebub....I would say that someone is 'Bananas' and a 'Nana' is another word for Grandma.

Having said that..... I really agree with you and am just trying to be humorous....Perhaps I should type 'Humerus', so you can 'pick a bone with me' about my spelling. :-) ☺☺☺

The other one I have issue with is the word "proven".

I pronounce it with the "pro" bit to rhyme with low (I think most Scots do?), but I hear a lot of people (usually South of the border!) pronouncing it to rhyme with who.

leaped or leapt - he's a Russian idiot. (ps. I prefer leapt but there are plenty of examples where "...ed" sounds better than "...t"

Daisy, with or without the Not prefix, I pronounce it the same.

I think Scots pronounce it that way because of the Not Proven verdict in Scots Law.
