I was out in the shrubbery this afternoon and must say it was very enjoyable in the sunshine and light breeze. The downside is that the warmth on top of recent humidity has been a clarion call for slugs and snails to the detriment of growing shoots. The warmth has also caused some local butterflies to hatch and there are lots of 'green-veined whites' around. I even allowed myself to be distracted for an hour while I chased them with my camera. If you are interested, I'll post a link to one later in this thread but at present they are still firmly locked in my camera (the images that is, not the butterflies!).
This weekend kicks off a 5-week month with both our Links Games. Anyone is welcome to play, just think of whatever words come to mind to pair with the declared words to make either a new word or common phrase.
Manx Queenie is back to challenge you in the MM Game but as she is in transit between Tavira and her UK home, it will be myself that will post her challenge for her.
Watch out tomorrow morning in Q&P for the introduction at 8:45 and the words themselves at 9am. Play early to have a better chance of bonus points and the game closes at 7pm Sunday. The results are usually posted almost immediately after that but I will be out at a function in the afternoon and uncertain of my return time so be prepared for the results to be a little later than usual.
The other version is the KM Links Game where you pit your wits against the setter of the Daily Telegraph GK Crosswords (Kate Mepham). That version starts a little earlier and is managed by seekeerz from Australia. Play anytime before midnight Sunday for an equal chance of points.
The shrubbery is now open for visitors to wander in and socialise making the most of this warm spring evening. By all means feel free to do a bit of weeding while you wait for others to arrive.
I'm all weeded out, Gen2 - trying to give the garden a tidy-up before the family arrives from California on Wednesday. I should be able to post as normal tomorrow, but don't know when (or even if) I'll get round to it in the following two weeks. Will do my best.
