I hope the person that broke into my step nans house and stole her mobility scooter has more need of it than she does!

Ggt. Absolutely reprehensible. Your nan must be devastated as well as frightened by the break in. Horse whipping would be too lenient. Best wishes to your nan. Not much but all I can do.
There's low and then there's LOW!
And utter SCUM.
Most crims prefer a quick getaway.
I agree with all the above sentiments but, on a more basic note, is the scooter covered on the household insurance? Contents of the house usually are.
Am I allowed a little chuckle at the thought of the burglar, with mask and striped shirt, slowly toddling away?
Feel so sorry for your nan fgt. Must be very scary for her wondering if they would break in again.
With the scooter gone, maybe thats all they wanted --hope so
If it had happened to a relative of mine I'm sure some of my nephews would be able to arrange for him to really need it.
I hope they have left some finger prints behind, you never know you may be lucky if the police are involved.
fgt, Im glad your Dad managed to sort your nan out with another scooter,
Our local police station are very hot on stamping your postcode into the metal on your pushbike,
if you take your bike to the station, they have the tools and do it for you FOC.
It may be worth ringing your local station and asking if they could do this to her new scooter, Its permanent, can't be removed and would be a way of teracing it if........God forbid.....anything happened to the new one. X
^^tracing it^^
I am with paddywak on this fgt, I know it is no consolation but I have friends that would make sure that they would really need it, these people are the lowest of the low, hope all goes well with the new one.
Bless your nan Helen, that is enough to scare anyone. I do so hope something fitting befalls the thief.
Nice to see Barmaid about, ( sorry for hijack Helen ).
grim and why? Trust she is ok as this must be quite shocking for her, the fact that her personal space has been invaded, never mind the loss of the scooter.
There are some despicable people about these days.

Thanks all, we did have a bit of a chuckle nan is a hoarder and we laughed at the thought of an empty space were the scooter had been. I'll speak to dad tomorrow and get an update
This happened in Holywood which is a posh area in NI
Children in Holywood robbed a woman in her 50s. The woman was returning to her mobility scooter when a group of youths, aged about 12 approached her and asked if they could try the scooter. When she refused, he produced a knife, demanded money and took cash from her purse. After taking money from the woman, two youths took the scooter, but were stopped by a passing driver. The woman was unhurt, but extremely shaken by her ordeal. Local DUP MLA Alex Easton said the incident has "left a lot of fear in the community." He commented: "It is quite worrying when you hear that children as young as 12, may have been involved." Detectives would like to speak to anyone with information, especially the driver who helped the woman.
