Hand Trouble :-(

Hello all. Yesterday afternoon, I had a strange sensation in my right hand. It came on all of a sudden. It started as a shooting pain, if my palm is facing upwards its the bottom left of my palm and spreading up towards my last 3 fingers. It then became a constant pain, and a few hours later intolerable. Any movement was unbearable, even moving my arm. I tried to put a bandage on to support it and at first it was throbbing, then it just went numb and tingly. I haven't knocked it or done anything different, but I've been wracking my brains wondering what it could be. This morning it is just the bottom left of my palm and little finger, but I now have the same in my left hand too. I'm finding it difficult to pick things up and even open the milk. Even typing this is a long painful process. Does anyone know what it might be? Or has anyone had anything similar? TIA

my wife had this in both hands sounds a classic case of carpal tunnel syndrome ie palm and little finger it does not normally effect the thumbs hope this is of some help.

Hi all, just to let you know, I went to the docs yesterday after having numb hands and the verdict is muscle contractures, apparently my neck, shoulders and back are terrible and I've been prescribed tablets and told to get a very good massage!

Dont like to disagree with the doc, but could it be Slap Cheek? Working with young 'uns it could be this virus ... which does affect the hands, muscles etc. Read this : especially where it says 'in adults' halfway down...
