Mild Heart Attack
9 Answers
I had a mild heart attack 6 days ago was taken to hospital and had various blood tests 2 spaced ECGS and was discharged the same day and placed on the urgent waiting list for an Angiogram and placed on aspirin 75 mg daily atorvastatin 80mg daily bisoprolol 2.5mg daily clopidogrel 75mg daily and glycerine trinitrate when required my cholesterol was slightly raised as was the heart blood tests just slightly raised around 28 what ever that means I'm normally an active 70 year old and Ive been told to give up my daily 40 lengths of swimming and my 2/3 mile walks until Ive had the angiogram
i still feel tired and feel a bit out of sorts my Blood pressure is now back to normal as is my pulse and in no cardiac pain it just feels my rib cage is sore and achy a,can any tell me how long it will be before i feel less under the weather and knackered!
any reassurance would be welcome

It doesn't matter whether it was a heart attack OR angina... your treatment will depend on the angiograms. After successful surgery, you will still be able to do your 40 lengths of swimming and your walks.

if the blood tests and ECG's were normal that would indicate that you only had an anginal attack and not a heart attack......even a mild one.
Angiograms are essential and will indicate if there is a reduced blood flow to your heart and whether the insertion of a stent would be appropriate (Duke of Edinburgh ) or bypass surgery.
Angiograms and revascularisation( Bypass or stent) is now ...NO BIG DEAL.
Starting your medication, especially the beta blockers (Bisoprolol) will make you feel tired.....but after about 4or5 weeks, your body will get used to it.
Don't worry.
