sugar in the tank

My mates ex has told him she has put a bag of granulated sugar in his petrol tank.She didn't say when she did it
He has a small 2 ltr nissan pickup.
i don't know if he has driven it but everyone iknows sugar and kill an engine.
he hasn't got internet access what should he do.
is i kilo of sugar enough to wirte hie eingine off?
I have told him to drain the tank.

I would certainly have the car looked at by a mechanic. Hopefully, it will have not caused much damage.

I would suggest that dotjhawkes finds out a bit more about a situation before making asinine comments like that.
