The widower of a young woman who died following botched medical 'treatment' from an Irish hospital still burdened with a Catholic ethos has been receiving poison pens letters. They're adding insult to injury, but what sort of people would sit down and write such letters?

Your local TDs probably. The recent debacle over the abortion law has done nothing to assuage their desire for such suffering. Doctors were pretty powerless and could have served 14 years in prison if the full Irish Abortion law is weighted against them.

the current law is still the (British) Offences against the person Act 1861
altho R v Bourne 1939 is an nglish case on this, it cd be a precedent or advisory...
