Street Entertainers
4 Answers
Hi,
This one is for anyone who has booked street entertainers for their outdoor event.
I watched some very excellent street entertainers today at the Winchester Hat Fair and wondered how you would go about booking them.
I have looked them up and before I waste their (and my) time wanted to know about how much they charge to come to your event?
I am sure it is far more than we could afford but you never know lol. Do they charge to attend and just keep the money they 'make' from the crowds that gather and watch and then chuck money in their hat, give all that money to the organisers or do they not charge and keep all the street takings?
Thanks

We just went up to him on the street he gave us a card and we phoned and booked him. He charged a fortune. A$1600.00. But was excellet
Mostly they will give you a quote based on how long you want them to perform for and how far they will need to travel. Very approximately think around £200 for a three hour set with breaks plus travel and expenses.
But ring and ask, they won't mind giving you a rough idea. I think they negotiate regarding the money in the hat too. But some don't like to have a hat while others use them all the time for extra cash in hand ( don't have to share it with their agent)

Thank you.
The pair I saw Saturday I have seen in Covent Garden and on the South Bank as well and possibly on the telly but not sure about that one lol So I am imagining they will be on the pricey side :(
I don't know what they do with the money they get in the hat but whenever I have seen them they always do the rounds with it encouraging people to put money in.
Round this way a children's magitian for a 45 minute party stint is about £200 (which is why I've never had on for my kids ;)
