Try clicking the arrow in the search box next to the Bing logo.
Don't know how it could have happened, but if you go through your settings, there is a drop-down box with the search engines listed (Should be the fourth on the list)
Go into Settings and reset your search engine to Google
1) Open Chrome.
2) Click the three horizontal bars, top right hand corner of screen.
3) Go down to 'Settings' and click it open.
4) On the page that appears,go down to 'Search' and reset the box alongside 'Manage search engines' so that it reads 'Google'

That's it....Al.

Alston done that but it makes no difference still goes to a search engine called 'searchconduit' which is Bing again.
This is clearer than me trying to explain it. You have somehow downloaded a toolbar or extension.

EDDIE....I didn't realise that your computer has been invaded by 'conduit'. What have you downloaded to bring it along into your comp.?

I am afraid to open the site given by hc4361 because when I clicked onto the link I was met with a warning message 'This site has a poor reputation'.

Possibly the site is quite safe but I always avoid any which are 'red alerted' by my WOT (Web of Trust...an add-on in my Firefox Browser.)

Accordingly, I am listing the following for reference :-

Have tried to do what it says in your link but I can't find anything that looks like searchconduit or any other unwanted unknown programs when you click on uninstall or repair a program.
have gone to the 3 bar icon and removed searchconduit and clicked Google as default browser.

Question Author
Well that didn't work either still stuck with searchconduit.
