I don't want to open the link after what happened to me this morning. I opened my small indoor food recycling bin and was faced with a load of maggots. Quickly closed it and took it outside. I've called my dad and he's going to come round later and sort it out cos I'm too scared to deal with it. I have a phobia of worms and maggots etc,.

tiggs - i have a week bleach solution in a spray bottle and every time i put food in the bin i spray this on top of the food, it seems to be working

Don't know how I would deal with this. Very little scares or bothers me... but maggots do.
Will use Fluff's idea for the bin. Fortnightly collections in this heat are a nightmare however careful I am with the bins.

I have seen maggot therapy so it doesn't fill me with disgust...however they were not welcome guests in that poor lady's ear and looked nasty little critters. Note to self...when in Peru wear ear defenders.

Keep a few maggot between your bottom lip and teeth when fishing: the moist warmness keeps them wriggling and lively for maximum fish attracting.
