I'd be inclined to think it a waste of money, but so long as you aren't suffering from epilepsy the only thing that might be hurt is your wallet.

If you are going to buy one of these kits try to find one that is as cheap as possible. I don't think that more money will necessarily get you a significantly "better" mind machine with it.

cheers jim, yes that's the kind of thing, though i wasn't looking to have to build it myself.
they cheapest i can find that are fully made and have a function box controller are about £115 - but there's an extra 20-odd postage as they are in australia!

i may buy those cheap ones as a tester though and if i like the effect buy a better set
