...Hi....I have a Radeon 9200 which is showing it's age badly and is running a driver version at least two years old......would updating the driver software give it a bit of a lift, and if so how do I go about finding the right driver and installing?.............any advice would be welcome. I am pretty competant about PCs but this is something I have never looked into............help please........commoner

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Its always beneficial to have the latest drivers installed but this can sometimes depend upon you having the latest updates for your OS and I note you are only running SP1.
Bearing this in mind, go to this page to get the latest ATI drivers and follow the instructions to install them but make sure you set a system restore point before doing so.
Updated drivers will make quite a big difference, especially compared to 2 year old drivers! You could even see a 50% increase in performance.
Go to http://www.ati.com/ and you can find the latest drivers in the downloads section. The drivers for your card are called Catalyst. You should really upgrade to Windows SP2 to get the best out of them though.

..Right thanks for that guys.....I got the latest driver version and though there was some improvement it was nowhere near what I expected.....maybe because I don't have SP2 installed.
I'd like to do that but have heard so many tales of woe that I am reluctant to do the job.........thanks again.....commoner.
