when we enquired as to the collection days for these various things we were told to stick it all in the rubbish bin, no collections for recycling!

I thought this was now a legal requirement to provide collections for recycling, clearly not.

Does your area provide collections to recycle household rubbish/items?

Ratters I was just thinking maybe it is because you live in quite a remote area and quite a long way up to your house that you only get one collection going up.

Wendilla, we only live 3.5 miles from a busy town and the track to our farm is on a busy (A) road and we drop all our refuse at the bottom of the track on the side of the (A) road.
Sorry Ratter, only just seen this.
Powys County Council have a recycling policy and it should include you. May be worth contacting them:

Welcome to the neighbourhood, by the way.
Hounslow. Green bin for cardboard, tins, bottles and textiles. Blue bag for paper. White bag for plastics. Green bag for garden waste. Green lidded bin for food waste - with mini food waste bin for inside the house. All great fun.

WyeDyed, Thanks :-)

I noticed that they were collecting recycling waste in Rhayader, so maybe they dont collect it from outside of town as some else here suggested, I'm only a few miles away though.
