Advice Requested For The Following

we have been going to the beach several days running recently and will continue to do so until the weather breaks. It is very hot and humid. My daughter dresses her two children aged 4 and 8 in these rubber "wet suits" which have short sleeves and short thigh length legs. Their whole trunk is enclosed as they zip closed.I argue that these are sweaty and unsuitable for very hot weather (OK if it is cold or very windy). The trouble is the boy aged 4 has excema and it has flared up recently where it is normally almost unnoticeable. I maintain that air and sun on his skin would be the best bet covered by a cotton tee shirt after short sun exposure, which can be exposed occasionally for a few minutes to let the sun onto his skin. Please can anyone advise and give their opinion?

Wetsuits in the summer are usually made of a thinner neoprene than suits designed for winter use. Also I would imagine that the suits are not of good quality so therefore the seams and zip area will leak will provide some comfort.
I went surfing on Saturday and only zipped my wetsuit up before I entered the water. It was unzipped the minute I came out. A wetsuit at this time of year is to help you stay in the water for longer if the sea conditions are cold and the wind is cold.
This is almost akin to leaving a dog in a car during the nice weather.

Are they actual wet suits or are they sun suits? Like these...

If they are neoprene ones though, I agree, a bit of sun and a cotton shirt would be far more comfortable and helpful too
