Hey - have you ever been feeling really depressed and felt like a really good cry but haven't been able to, and instead just have a really horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach yet when life is actually alright crying can be triggered by something totally ridiculous (like a sad song) even though you actually feel fine?! I could do with a good cry at the mo and tried to make myself but I really can't. It's so weird. xxx (sorry my questions have been fairly pessimistic recently!)

i know how your feeling, i jsut want to cry and hopefully the feeling in my stomach will go away, Although i was walking through the town yesterday and i looked at people walking around buzzing, looking happy and the tears just welled up inside!!

No problem yellowduck. Emotions are not controlled by our rational mind - therin lies the pleasure and the pain of them. Thus, when you think you need to cry, your emotional side decides it is not ready, so no tears, but at a moment undecided by you, but by your emotions - tears will come.

It's all perfectly normal, and although it can feel unpleasant at the time, it is designed to keep your emotions on a reasonably even keel, so just go with what happens, and don't worry about it.

I just logged onto this page and saw your post and it is exactly how i am feeling at the mo!! So glad its not just me! I have been feeling really over emotional lately and like theres too much stuff in my head! a good cry would clear my head i think!

Yellowduck, I have just had a really really difficult few days and was just dying to bawl my eyes out and get it out of my system but no matter what I tried it wouldn't happen.

No doubt I will make a complete t*t of myself one day soon when I see a puppy or a little baby on a bus which will set me off.

I hope you start feeling better soon lovely x x

I'm so sorry you're feeling down yellowduck & other's.

I have felt very low just lately, mainly since losing my dear sister on Christmas day & having a nasty throaty virus which doesn't seem to want to go away!

However, I have been trying to take my mind off things by going out & taking in the fresh air, albeit cold!

Keeping busy with my hobbies including swimming & Yoga, playing my favourite music, or listening to talk-in radio programmes, say LBC, also seems to help.

Spring will soon be upon us & we can all look forward to brighter days! -x-

Thanks so much for all your kind words people - you're all sweeties and it makes me feel better to think there are such nice, kind people in the world : ).

Smudge - I'm so so sorry for your loss, my problems seem totally insignificant compared to that so I wish you all the best.

And to all of you who've had a bad time of it recently,at least we know there are others feeling the same! - and I hope you're feeling happier today xxx

Hey , sounds like you all need a big hug.Hope you all feel happier soon. xx
Thank you for those words yellowduck, you too valsuey - nice to know we're not alone & that people genuinely care. -x-
there is a lot of sadness and pain in my life but I very rarely cry; I think this is because crying, like laughing, is something you can only do with someone else. It's very hard on your own.
Thinking of you Hgrove & hope things improve for you too. -x-
I know what you mean but i've been feeling so sad lately (relationship problems) i feel like bursting into tears all the time and have trouble holding it back (i somehow just manage to wait til i'm on my own). Sorry to hear that there's so many of you feeling down too. It will get better! :o)
Hope you feel better soon too sammd. -x-
