It would help if you said what Operating System you are using (XP, Windows 7 etc).

I would try a system restore.

It's an Epson PHOTO RX 425 printer and I'm using Vista, thanks for your reply.
You 'unticked' some boxes on what? What were you using?
Question Author
CCleaner>tools>startup
Try unplugging the printer usb and temporarily re-plugging into a different usb point. You might be lucky and get the drivers installed again.

I was thinking you were using msconfig.exe. Doesn't CCleaner ask you to back up settings before you have a 'twiddle', hopefully you can go back and restore them.
Good answer from SlackAlice. I too assumed you were using msconfig. Personally I would steer clear of registry cleaners and the like. I know people who have had real problems with them.

Thanks again for your replies. A drop down message suggests restarting the local spooler, what is that and how do you go about it . Thanks.
A dropdown message from what?
Try this:-
Click on Start button and type 'msconfig.exe' (without the quotes) in the Search box. Click on the result that comes up.
When the System Configuration utility window appears go to the 'Services' tab and scroll down until you find 'Print Spooler' and put a tick in the box, click 'Apply' and 'OK', restart your pc.

You might have to re-install your drivers for the printer again, available here,

Thanks SAl,I did as you said but the print spooler was already ticked,so I unticked it then ticked again in the hope that it might kickstart a reaction ,but no luck I'm afraid.
Question Author
PS in the status column the print spooler was "stopped" where as most of the others were "running" in contrast
Pity you didn't post in AB before taking such drastic action as using CCleaner. I go along on this one with ^^^Electrochem.

Meanwhile, SA is 'on the ball' with this one and I think you will have to download some new Drivers for your Printer.

EPSON EasyPrintModule (3.10
There were two choices of driver and i chose the one above and d/loaded it,but where is it? The times I find myself in this situation.I've taken some stick over my choice of CCleaner.
Is it in your 'Downloads' folder waiting to be run.? Unless it is 'run' it is unlikely to be installed on your Computer for activation of your Printer.

Question Author
I just can't find it,it's not in "d/loads" What is the most unlikely place to find it??
If you are positive that you downloaded it, then do a search.

Click your 'Start' button > Search > For Files or Folders, then type in...EPSON EasyPrintModule.

With a bit of luck you then should find it.
