I do not know the figure, but would imagine it will certainly be no less than �50, and probably more like �100. Have you thought about trawling the web/yellow pages etc. for piano tuners/reconditioners? They should be able to give you quotes.
We used to have a really awful old upright when I was a kid - but hey it taught us to play. You might want to think about investing in an electronic machine, perhaps a clavinova or something like that. Chappells of Bond street sell them, as do many other places. They're not expensive, and should give you years of fun (as well as not going out of tune!)

I've actually got a clavinova at the moment, but knew someone who was giving away a good quality upright because they didn't have space for it in the house.
Trouble is it's not been played for years and has been stored in a shed for a good few months so it's got a bit damp and the keys stick etc. As it's a nice quality it would be worth doing some work on, but I didn't have any idea how much this would be.
