So, what else can I put in a shoebox to send out to Kandahar other than food?

I'm sure he'll be sick to death of Haribo and Maryland cookies any time now and he's got enough ground coffee to last him the rest of his tour.

I did send the book 1,227 QI Facts To Blow Your Socks Off and he loved that so I want some fun ideas for future parcels, which must not exceed 2kg in total.

Maybe some other kinds of card based games he could play with others rather than the run of the mill normal cards - maybe an adult version of top trumps (or nostalgic one!) or a other card games which he can adapt without having a board.

How about some of those photo frames that have a magnetic back he can stick on things like fridges to have photos up, they are nice and light and flat

A DVD of friends and family, round the area he is from etc... Even a humour video about the locality with a silly commentary or one with photos on if he can view them.
