However the nice lady gave me £5 off my shopping for my trouble. I shall try to buy the delivery pass again in the week as I get a £4.50 delivery every Monday and I want extra shopping for my daughter's birthday party this month so the saving will be considerable.
I have a delivery from Sainsburys every week - the delivery charge is less than the cost of petrol to get to the nearest store. I have had shopping delivered from other stores (Tesco and Asda) which have been good too. I recently did an online shop with Waitrose which had no delivery charge but you had to spend £50, the chap who delivered it offered to take it to the kitchen and any food stuff that was destined for the fridge or the freezer were in special bags! I would use them again.
I use waitrose mainly, tesco occasionally tried asda twice, paid the delivery charge then they only delivered about half of what i had ordered because I didn't want substitutes. When its things like icecream and fresh goods, they get to me in better nick being delivered than if I shopped because the van id refrigerated.
