Car Images

Hi
Have seen an advertisement in my local paper for vacancies with carimages.com. Have had a look at their website but can't really tell if they are legit or one of these dodgy companies that gets you to do all their work and then stiffs you for payment on the basis that your work is third rate (like those mail shot companies you see on watchdog from time to time).
Has anybody heard of this company or had dealings with them?

Not that that is any reason to doubt their integrity but it does beg the question about the sort of company they are. As a commercial photographer I would struggle to make any money taking these sorts of images unless I was shooting 50 or 60 a day because the rate that the companies (car dealerships etc) would pay for these types of images would be very small. And lets face it the sort of images displayed on the site and described as "professional" frankly any reasonable snapper with a digital camera could take. Given that, your return would be even smaller by comparison. It may be worth doing just to get some experience but I wouldn't consider it as a career. Good luck.
Companies house is the body that registers limited companies in the UK. You can get basic details at companies house for free which will tell you when it registered, it's current status and when it last posted accounts. (more detailed information - Co. accounts etc is available for about 7 -10 a pop.). They only hold information on limited companies. So if this one isn't there won't be anything to see. (Not being limited is no reason to doubt them, nor is being newly registered).
