A Literal Belief In The Bible Is Bad For Your Health?

A further example of what appears to be the needless death of a child because the parents believed that prayer would be sufficient to cure their children.
I find such a fundamentalist belief truly baffling - that you would put your child ren at risk for your faith. Its not as if they did not have evidence that this might happen. The same fate occurred to the child of another couple who were members of the same church.

Adults can risk their own lives but they have an obligation to protect children. There is no justificatio n for their actions, I accept that many people follow a religion but does that mean that they stop thinking for themselves?

Yes, some are some aren't, like the case of Sally and Neon Lucas. She had a lot of sympathies medical and lay. I wonder, if the child had died - as far as I know he is now responding well to radiotherapy - would she have still received the same sympathies.

I have to admit this is one particular denomination I have never ever heard of, so how it can say it has been around since 26AD!
One thing I am sure of, is that faith alone cannot heal. You can pray about it but even Jesus acknowledged that the sick needed a physician.
Some ailments call for professional medical attention. Early diagnosis usually results in a better outcome and less expense. Getting regular check ups can help in heading off any problems, but we do have to keep in mind that Doctors are not miracle workers.
