Somebody had dug up a lots from their garden and dumped them in their recycling bin. I've rescued, or recycled, about 50 of them. Most still have the orange flower but there's not much root on the bulbs. I've replanted them. Any chance that they'd grow?

try and stop them growing!!....don't plant them anywhere that will be difficult to get rid of them. they like dry sunny poor surroundings and both self seed and produce more bulbs.

That sounds like the ideal garden plant for me. I wish I'd took the lot.
sandy. if your looking for ground cover they are great, they just grow and grow, ive always had orange ones, but ive also seen red ones which I prefer,

I see the red ones, Lucifer, are on sale at £1 a corm. The free orange ones will do me.
What a lucky find, Sandy!
I've seen a lot of them out in flower recently and it's made me think about getting some myself, as I've just the spot for some.
I wonder if they were the ones I threw out, you can't give them away here I dug up loads I needed the space for something else. They tend to take over if you don't keep them under control. they grow wild all round here and people seem to treat them like weeds. I had thousands in my garden and had to thin them out. They will certainly grow again wait till next year.
