I wish to permanently record on a blank DVD a TV programme showing in 3 days time.I will be away when the programme is broadcast.I can set up the cable box(Tivo) to record the programme direct to TV.When I return can I then replay the programme and record it onto the blank disc in my recordable DVD/VCR player. To set up the timer play system on my DVD recorder and record direct from the TV is way toooooo complicated for me.Is what I suggest feasible?
Thanks in advance
I do not see how your tv can record any programme as it is not a recorder. I am not familiar with the Tivo box so tell me are you able to record tv programmes on it ? If so then does it have a scart out facility on the back ? If so then you can connect a scart lead from your Tivo box to the back of your DVD Recorder & play the recorded programme on the Tivo whilst recording same...

Further to my answer at 11.58 if you haven't already done so I suggest you connect your system as follows < Virgin input to Tivo box RF in > RF out to DVD RF in < DVD RF out to TV. ( also connect Scart from Tivo box to DVD < Scart from DVD to TV ). This should allow you to record onto blank DVD ANY progs you have recorded on Tivo.
Thanks for pointing that out for me hc. In that case retrocop, is your DVD recorder capable of receiving Digital TV channels ? If not your only chance is a Freeview box with Scart out to DVD recorder < DVD Rec to TV.
