Cigars were served at the tables as was pipe tobacco and of course cigarettes. Now, I'm not a smoker but I suppose I was on about 400 a day in there. The punters are mainly from abroad, for lack of better words, and I think this is not going to go down well at all! plus, the staff who do smoke are not allowed to leave the building, they had a smoking room. I think this is going to cost the clubs alot of money and I look forward to the goss from my old colleagues about how it's affected them and how they may get round it..........
As I live in Scotland, I've got just over a month before I wont be able to smoke in one of my favourite places, the bingo. It already has a slightly larger non-smoking area than the smoking area, even though its usually near empty. I dont really understand why the bans going to be happening in England, especially with these new 24 hour pubs, clubs, etc. Its a bit of a contradiction. Save your lungs, but damage your liver.
