I made a dress for a do on Sat night. Just put it on, or not as the case may be cos despite measuring everything to within an inch of my life I must have put on an inch.
So how do I lose an inch in 2 days? Either that or buy a new dress - which I cant really afford because I have the biggest vets bill in the world to discharge at some point over the next day or so and we are off to Italy next month.

Waist and hips are fine CK - infact I need to take them in a bit.
I can probably take about 2/8ths off a seam Tilly, that's not going to help. I think I might be inserting a panel - not sure yet, going to tinker with some scraps and my sewing machine for half an hour.
Top and skirt would look odd Ed because of the design and the pleats that go from the bodice into the waist.

How about this. On the day you need to wear the dress book into a beauty salon for one of those body wraps that are meant to reduce your size by just an inch or two? That might be enough so that the dress you made will fit. Then you don't have to do anything drastic, there are quite a few reasons as to why you have gained that inch, and it might be that it'll disappear as quick as it appeared
