Man’S Way Or By God’S Way—Which?
57 Answers
How foolish it would be for you to spend all your time accumulating wealth and power as the world does.
To see a lifetime spent amassing wealth is a lifetime wasted. Jesus wisely reasoned: For what benefit will it be to a man if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul? or what will a man give in exchange for his soul -Matt. 16:26.
A wealthy King spent much of his time acquiring homes, gardens, provinces and all sorts of luxury and he concluded that : I looked at everything done on earth, and I saw that it is all a waste of time. It is like trying to catch the wind-Eccl. 1:14.

Goodlife Your cult doesn’t concern itself with this life and does nothing to alleviate the suffering in this world that it is so fond of trumpeting, so please don’t take people here for fools by implying that Jehovah’s Witnesses are charitable. They are not. Additionally, whilst I can’t speak for anyone else, I can think of nothing worse than spending eternity on a planet inhabited solely by self-obsessed Jehovah’s Witnesses. As difficult as it may be for you to understand, when my time comes, I will die – and I am content to accept that. Keep your sympathy for yourself. You need it more.
By definition, dying is the end.
Chambers dictionary-

My wife and I have accumulated substantial though unspectacular wealth. We have a comfortable home which we continue to develop for the enjoyment of ourselves and those people we invite to share it with us.
One of our most pleasurable activities is working in the garden where we grow beautiful flowers and lovely fresh vegetables.
We recently installed a solar electrical system that generates far more power than we consume. We did it because we felt it was a positive thing to do towards improving the planet.
We find our home, gardens and power extremely spiritually rewarding and don't feel we forfeit anything, least of all our souls to have and enjoy them.
What is undoubted foolish and a waste of time is the propensity to sacrifice the pleasures in ones mortal life in pursuit of a promise of an "eternal life"for which there is not a shred of evidence.
None forfeit their souls so profoundly as those who squander the opportunity of leading a fulfilling life that is available to them right now.

Good life - you comment Peter Pedant //Mt 16 is clearly apocalyptic// No!
The next verse ( that wd be Mt 16 27 ) is
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done
which isnt about flufffy bunnies Bill Gates and weath
it is about the Coming, judgement, etc
and sounz pretty apocolyptic and millenial to me - er but I was reading it in Greek.
Goodlife do me a favour - can you clearly separate the catchy quotes such as Mt 16 26 from Good Life homily ? It actually distresses me to see Goodlife context yoked with the words of God and given an NT tag.
Like .... "Jesus wisely said..". (Goodlife) I kinda thought that wasnt NT
"To see a lifetime spent amassing wealth is a lifetime wasted." ( Goodlife again, masquerading as something called pericope) . The balanced use of 'lifetime' is an Aramaism but I thought ;amass' and 'lifetime' dont occur in the NT - and they don't.
For those who read the Bible (and not Goodlife)
Mt 16 26 is closely paralleled with Mk 8 36 and Luke 9 25
and is a sign that the words were in the earliest versions
