One of my trousers has got a little tight and i want it taken out.The only difficulty is that there is no fabric left to take it out. Do alteration shops have any fabrics that maybe could match my trousers to fill the gap. OK, you probably will tell me to put the trousers in the skip but i really like these trousers.
Any suggestions welcome.

you mean "let out" not taken out. If its not miles that need to be let out, there might be enough material in the seams to do it but its very expensive to get it done. The only way to know is to go to the shop and ask.

Could you not try reducing your waistline
instead of extending the trousers?
:-)
What about something like this

Baldric is right, alas, your trousers haven't got tight, you have. If you wear a belt you might just smuggle a little elastic into the waistband and hope the belt will hide it.

But are you sure there aren't other equally good trousers out there? Can you check with the same manufacturers?
check out charity shops for trousers in same fabric?
Porkchop, have you been pigging out on the pork? :)
You need triangular vents put in the sides, down each leg. Go all "sixties" and make them flowery pattern, and be a trend setter.
You need to take them to a sewing shop that does alterations - they'll be able to tell if they can pinch fabric from e.g. inside the hems, pocket flaps, etc - but be warned, if the spare fabric has been inside your trousers, it may be a slightly different shade as the outsides may have faded. If the trousers are a standard colour/fabric, then you might be able to buy a remnant to add to them - but the sewing shop/alteration person will advise you. My friend does alterations and often has to rob bits of the insides of garments to extend them, but it's only by a little bit (unless your trousers are flares, LOL)

Ah, give me a break. I knew i would get these answers. I suppose if you ask a stupid question you will get the answer you deserve. There is zero fabric left in the seams so i will just have to go around with my trousers half open. Hope i don't get arrested.
Those are the trousers to save to wear with a long jumper now autumn is here.
A good tailor or seamstress would know how to splice in a piece of fabric to extend the trouser/s. My mum has done this to many of my dad's trousers.
but you got lots of non-stupid answers...
Alternatively, not that I've ever bought them, the small ads & catalogues sometimes show an extender for the waistband.
I agree, jno, I don't think mine was stupid :-(
The only stupid answer on this thread was my 11.57 post, and it was a joke.
Now I will be, though :-)

Porkchop, what you need is a codpiece http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Darth-Vader-ROTJ-leather-Cod-piece-STAR-PROPS-WARS-/331019547944
