You will need to give more information than that! What era? 1800's, 1900's? Is that her maiden name or married name? You must know something else about this person, there will probably be hundreds of Ann Hollidays from Ireland or Scotland.

Sammysnake---I only know that Ann Hollida or Haliday was the daughter of a Shipping Line owner of the same era[1800's]. I have tried to find the Shipping Line figuring that it would give me the country of origin, but to no avail. I know she came to Canad aboard one of her father's ships. Here she married a Thomas E or H Godwin.
All records in Republic of Ireland before a certain date are available only at the local church - there was no real central records. You'll need to find the parish and trawl through the records personally - it's not as difficult as you might think though.

Try the LDS search facility at Family Search Org.

It's excellent - and will allow you to search oth Scotland and Ireland - and even Canada.

Once you think you may have an idea of the county she came from - try Genuki's website and search for details of that county -
even Googling the name of the County (once you know it) along with 'Shipping' might help you turn up the actual Shipping Line.
Good luck - I've been doing my tree for years! It's not always easy......
