Windows 8.1
13 Answers
Like thousands of others, I took the advantage of free upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Firstly I hadn't anticipated a wasted 3 hour download time but more to the point, although some things appear to be better, for me, I would like to revert to Windows 8. Does anyone know how I could do this please? My Samsung laptop came with Windows 8 pre-installed. Therefore no disc. Thanks. Tel

Having said that, I did get one comment saying that I'd been lucky to do so, so I may have just been lucky.

VHG.....I think it would be a bit drastic to return the laptop to factory settings and loose all peronal files, accounts etc. Far better to do what Frank did and refresh the settings which is possible with Windows 8.

Thanks VHG, I would like to have given the 8.1 a try if I hadnt had a problem initially. I needed to save an important word document to My Docs for future reference but when I tried to retrieve I found it wasnt there. Other attempts also failed to reach My Docs. I think Open Office is an 8.1 addition which maybe causing the problem but Im not sure enough to attempt to delete the Open Office program. Your advice on this would be very much appreciated. I.e. where did my saved document go. And can I delete the Open Office prog? Tel
