Hi, if somebody is parked outside my home and i need 2park my car there, do i have the right to ask them to move their car? Can you tell me what my parking rights are outside my home?

Sorry but there is no right to park. A public highway is for everyone and if parking is allowed then anyone can. If you have a private road as I have you can tell them to B/O.

If you or someone at your address were disabled then the council would have a parking space marked out for your use only. Other than that it is first come first parked.

it's annoying when you can't park outside your own home even when it's a housing estate well off the main road. I have the same problem only I managed to ask one woman driver to move (nicely) and she did after saying she had a rjght to park where she wanted to so I asked about my rights as a resident and ratepayer.

Hi, sorry, but its a free country. If the parking of the other vehicle is impeding you in any way, you may be able to sue the owner in a 'private nuisance', which is a kind of Tort (wronged person)

To remy lover......sorry but if a parking space is painted on the road by the council anyone can park there as long as they display a "blue badge". It's still a public road and not a private parking space.

sorry ianess your not going to agree with me on this but in my area the council have a provisio of supplying parking spaces on the road for the disabled with markings to tell other motorists that that spot is reserved all be it at a cost each year
